hagerman fossil beds
paleo reconstuctions for interpretive waysides
About the project
These illustrations were commissioned for three interpretive waysides on the Snake River Overlook Trail at Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument in Idaho.
Borophagus - A bone-crushing dog, fairly well described fossil evidence
Ferinestrix vorax - A large badger, known from very fragmentary evidence. This reconstruction was the first of the species, and is highly speculative
Platygonus - A flat-headed peccary, a well described species that was similar to contemporary peccaries
