About the project

Scientists at John Day Fossil Beds National Monument found a fossilized grasshopper nest, the first of its kind, and hired me to illustrate the nest in creation. Its impossible to know what species of grasshopper laid the eggs, but based on the egg shape, its believed it was similar to a contemporary rice grasshopper.
